what would you give up for Laine

Created by: flyersarephilly
Team: 2020-21 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 4, 2021
Published: Jan. 4, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This package probably doesn't get the deal done but I feel like it would look similar to this. Young NHL ready prospect , NHL vet, Soild young prospect and picks. A contract needs to go back to make a deal work. What would jets fans want ot what are your thoughts on a trade?

I think if it's possible to get PLD in a Laine trade that would be the best option for the Jets. I wonder if one if not both orgs would worry about the player still not being happy in the new org. I know PLD has said he wants to play on a bigger stage and I think playing in Canada would be something he's looking for but who knows. Also, Torts and Laine sounds like a very interesting pairing with how hard torts is on players

I think it is an interesting option to talk about. The only advantage that Winnipeg might have is that PLD's Dad is a coach on Winnipeg's farm team also located in Winnipeg, so being close to family might help. The Laine/Torts things is greatly exaggerated IMO. Laine works his butt off on every shift, so once he learns the system, there would be no problem with his work ethic.

I actually believe that torts would be so good for laine. Think of Ovie and Trotz, that’s how I view torts and laine. Laine needs a guy that can be a harda** while still giving him the opportunity. Maurice is awful, he is a suck up and he doesn’t do much. But torts would whip laine into shape, really improve his D game while still encouraging him to be a star offensively. Laine gives his all on most of his shifts, he back checks hard and is in the play. That’s all torts asks for, he just wants someone who will work their a** off.

I don't watch/follow the jets closely enough to know all that but if it was like an Ovie/Trotz relationship that would be very beneficial for both team IMO. It's nice to have an actual conversation like this on this website since most of the time it goes downhill quick

Yup trust me I know, every fan base has their nuts. But the Canadian teams get it a lot worse, so it’s nice to talk to people who accept others opinions.
