Description
Dump matheson since he hasn't worked just like everyone expected and get a Goliath from LA and Byfuglien too. Let Desmith start, he always outplays his competition whether it was back in the baby pens or vs Jarry for the back up role. Had the best stats among Jarry and Murray one year as well. Let the man start. Reunite guentzel and rust with Malkin to rejuvenate him.

Needless to say, dumping Matheson is gonna cost you significantly more than that.

Currently if he keeps this up, his contract is one of the worst in the league.

Actually whether he's done or not is a mystery and he's actually currently a UFA.

He was definitely better last game. If you don’t believe me take Josh Yohes words on it
“ Matheson played a fine game. It wasn’t perfect, but it certainly wasn’t as noisy as his Penguins debut. I’d call it a simple but important step in the right direction.”

Tbf the only way he could get worse from his Pens debut would've been by scoring two goals on his own net.

Kings decline, they don't want anything to do with that contract. Rebuilding teams don't take on 5 years of a bad contract for a 2nd.

The thing is even if he's fine there's no way he makes up for that contract

Sure thing, can you show me a rebuilding team that took on a bad contract for 4+ years for a second rounder?

Marc Staal has one year left on his contract, not five.

Well your response of exclusively one-year contracts, has changed my mind. Thanks for proving my point.

Gudbranson has been on the contract for three years and has been on 4 different teams within that time. We're not just looking at the current year and last year of his deal and the last trade involving him, we're looking at all the past trades involving his bad contract. That's 3 different trades from van to pit and pit to Ana and Ana to Ott. You're prob just an angry Toronto fan that's mad that they had to give a first to get rid of marleau. As i have shown that is not always the case as in you don't always need to give a first to get rid of a bad contract. Marleau also was being given to a decent team in Carolina not a rebuilding team with a ton of cap. Marleau was also being paid a lot more at more than 6 million. But oh well ignore the facts because you're an angry Toronto fan that thinks every team needs to give a first now for a cap dump to work.
