trotz plays guys in the bottom 6 that might not even be good enough to play in the AHL. It's a problem. No doubt trotz is a good coach, but his lineup decisions hold the team back.

Probably a combination of jitters, team playing poorly in front of him and just poor play on his part. We really shouldn’t be surprised he’s not amazing out of the gate (I say that to myself as much as I do anyone else lol). As long as he shows improvement as the season goes on, I’ll be happy

It’s not simply goal tending. The defense limits the amount of shots the goalie sees and when the other team gets shots off they are low quality shots from the outer perimeter. They went from worst defense in the league to best in one year with the same personnel. That’s unprecedented! The reason why trotz relies on grinders is in order to wear down the other teams top guys our top six is not as talented as other playoff teams top six and we cannot rely on them to outscore other teams. This team relies on defense, wearing guys down, and getting timely goals. Barry Trotz is the best coach this team has had since al arbour he turned an expansion team into an established franchise he won a cup in Washington when no one else ever could and he turned this team from laughing stock to cup contender in one year. They’ve won more playoff series these past two years than they have in my entire 25 years on this planet. This team plays significantly above their talent level and that’s because of the system trotz implemented. Even if they were to fire him which would be absolutely ridiculous who would you hire to replace him?
