That's interesting. I haven't heard much about Brown since his draft and I know he's battled some unfortuante injuries. I guess it comes down to whether someone believes he will be a legit NHL player. Mete is a 5-7 defenseman on most teams: Brown would have to be of equal value to that, so like a 3rd-4th line center/winger who could contribute some offensively. I assume that the days of him being the future #1 center of a team are over, right?

Sorry: looking at Brown's stats, he seems to be doing well in the AHL, so there's probably up some solid upside. smile

One more thing tears of joy I am certainly not saying that Mete is more valueable than Brown: Mete has very limited upside. He's a very good skater who tends to get flustered near the boards and in front of the net. He does not have a large frame, and this lack of size has meant that he get pushed around and beaten in puck battles. He's very young still (most forget that he was really young when he joined the NHL), and already has a lot of experience. However, he needs to get bigger.

This will be great for Ottawa.

You'll be able to choose between passing the Brown Meat or White Meat ...

I don't mind the trade in a vacuum, as long as Brown is converted to a winger. I think his skill set would be better suited for the wing. Perhaps as a 3rd or 4th line winger beside KK or Evans he could put up say 15-20 goals a year.
