Isn’t the reason for the trade because they don’t want to play Bennett at center? I don’t see why they trade for another center they need a RW.

They don’t play BENNET at centre. And no they really aren’t in need of a RW. or any winger for that matter. Especially with lindholm pushed back to the wing.

I don't see why NJD does this deal. They are not trying to move Zacha.

They do have a lot of centers,

Hughes
Hischier
Sharangovich
Zacha
Zajac
McLeod
Merkley

but Nico is hurt, Zajac may not be around forever, Merkley looks to be 5th liner/AHLer....and I think they view both Dawson Mercer and Arseni Gritsyuk as RWers. So its not like they are trying to free a center.
