If Couture has NY on his trade list or waives, absolutely. This is a very good deal for him.

I meant more the Sharks. I don't think it helps them. Couture's contact isn't the major issue with this team.

It isn’t the major issue now but it will get worse as time goes on. Unless he retires early, couture at age 36-38 @ 8 million/year will be bad. Strome is 3.5 million cheaper than couture and his contract ends in 2 years. Couture is obviously better now but it’s way better in the long run.

Georgiev still has some potential. He’d certainly be a better, more promising asset than Dubnyk.

The 1st is in 2022 which is a stronger draft than 2021 even if the rangers are better that year.

We don’t have a 2021 2nd so that fills a hole as well.

Don’t know what the lottery protections are exactly but this seems like a W for the sharks.
