Mete's the only 4th round pick of his year to make the NHL... He's at minimum worth more than a Tampa 4th?

This is one of the worst rationales I've heard lmao. I do think maybe he warrants a fourth, but where a player is drafted has nothing to do with their actual value. I mean just look at football, should the price of Josh Rosen be a first round pick... NO. I guess if any team wants to trade for Stefan Noesen his price is a first rounder?

Lol you're overvaluing a 4th round pick. Why even compare this to that silly American "sport"? A 4th is a 3% chance at an NHL player. Mete is a bottom-pair NHL player aged 22. Thus, he's worth more. It's simple logic.

Go back to the drawing board and rethink your thinking process...

That silly american sport knows how to run a league... but I digress. I think in fact you're overvaluing a bottom pairing defenseman... because they are in fact a bottom pairing. IN FACT, not even a bottom pairing guy, it wasn't until rumors of a trade request that this player played in this season. Additionally, you are just wrong. If you would read (if possible) this article https://dobberprospects.com/2020/05/16/nhl-draft-pick-probabilities/ you would see it is a 22% chance a player selected in the 4th making the league, basically 1/5. 22% is not 3%

I'll give you the exaggeration, but it's roughly a 12% chance to be an impact player after the 2nd round [ https://oilersnation.com/2020/10/05/has-nhl-drafting-improved/ ] "impact" being someone who plays 100+ games in the NHL. There's a big difference between that and and the many players who play an NHL game and then move their career elsewhere. Plus, the difference is even more pronounced in recent years -- drafting has considerably improved. It's why 1st round picks are now nearly unmovable and 2nds are the new premium. Just look at the 4th rounds in the past decade, Mete is a standout. [ https://www.quanthockey.com/nhl-draft/en/round/4-round-draft-picks-active-players-all-time-games-played-leaders.html ]. He's already played 170 games at his age, with a 750K cap hit. I'm not saying he's a consequential player, but he can slot as a 5th-6th D in any team. So why would any team consider moving him for a 4th? So you can hope to be lucky and draft Mete 2.0....

And yes it is silly, they totally ****ized rugby. I mean... They're on grass, why do they need protective gear awesome face
