Why the lines

Don’t like the Seattle plan personally.
Don’t like the return for bear not big on idea of trading him but can understand why that could be an option just the deal here can’t get behind. Cutting Larssons pay by 2 million seems unwarranted he’s playing pretty solid and deserves roughly what he’s currently making.

I think the Oilers could probably just add a FA winger for 3-4 M without having to give up Bear and a 2nd. I would dangle the 2021 1st (in a weaker draft) to try to get Seattle to bite on Neal. I also think they re-sign Koekkoek if they can get him back around 1-1.5 M, and they try to work in Samarukov next year on the LD. Russell won't see a lot of ice next year.

Also I don't believe both Barrie AND Larsson will be back. I'd lean more toward Larsson mainly because he will be cheaper than Barrie and he brings a different style than what Bear and Bouchard bring.

Keep Bear and the 3rd and sign a UFA forward instead of Barrie. Barrie isn't a 1st pairing guy and expecting to improve the team with him in that spot is silly.

Lagesson-Larsson isn't a great 2nd pairing either. Your whole defense is a sh*tshow.
