Marino back would be big for real. Letang and Matheson were skating today, which is good news for once. Marino still aint back so seems unlikely.

doesn't Marino have to miss a certain amount of time due to the protocol?
Like once your in you miss time right? Like OV and the caps missed 4 games or whatever. They didn't have it, but missed 4 games.

I’m not sure what the exact rules are tbh

yeah I think, but not sure, once your in the protocol your out. Because the caps didn't have it, they tested negative but they were put in the protocol and then missed games.

Good news: he’ll probably play next game
Bad news: the COVID rules make ABSOLUTELY zero sense

I don't get this at all. They did just change the rules and stuff that was reported yesterday on tsn
https://www.tsn.ca/nhl-revises-virus-protocols-with-40-players-on-covid-19-list-1.1587751

but it doesn't really get into all of it.
I don't get it at all. Did he test positive and then negative? Was he around people who were positive? like what is it?
either way. Good for the penguins. But simply for a very fundamental idea of fairness they should really make this more clear. I mean you can't keep out 4 guys from WSH who didn't have it due to protocol and then other teams it's no big deal or what not? I'm saying that as a penguins fan, just the pure aspect of perceived fairness to all teams. Like why did WSH get players held out but the penguins didn't?

I agree 100%. Makes no sense why the caps were held without their best players for multiple games yet Marino is now good to go. I don’t think it was disciplinary for breaking the covid rules right? I mean it was 4 teammates who practice together, play together, change together, etc.. were caught hanging out in a hotel room together. I don’t see any risk in that. It’s one thing if they were at a bar or party with a bunch of random people, but it was just them.
