(Leaf Fan) I'd do the NYI one only because of the 1st in there. Dal Colle doesn't seem like he's going to make it. As for the Montreal trade, if we are helping out the Habs, I would want their 1st this year or Juulsen. (sp?)

The Bozak trade is a big no for me, if we trade him away were losing a great leader, whos good at faceoffs, good with our most dynamic wingers, whose on a decent contract all for the 28th pick that will turn out to be a player in 5 years IF were lucky. If were trading away JVR i would want a kings ransom and I don't think that's good enough for me.

As of right now, if we're dealing players for picks, I don't want to be trading away "core" players, I would be open to trading away the Hollands, and Hunwicks, and Polaks but we can't just keep dishing players out every year

Agree with LeafsFan on Bozak. He is way too valuable to trade away for some future (maybe) NHLer. If the Leafs get the first pick in 2018, it just shows that the "Shanaplan: is not working. I don't expect them to be that bad, but Matty it almost looks like you want to Leafs to be terrible and then miraculously they are going to win the the Cup 2020. Team building doesn't work that way.

You are writing off a 20 yr old top prospect who has 7 goals in his first pro season? I think that might be the dumbest post ever on here.

Issue with the ask for Bozak is that the Habs don't have to dump DD. They have the $ to pay him to not play (like us) and they have some cap space. Huge rip off IMO.

If Dal Colle is a top prospect with his 7 goals and 4 assists in 22 AHL games then Kapanen must be a blue chip A+++ prospect with his 11 goals and 11 assists in 22 games also as a 20 year old.
I think we can all agree Dal Colle hadn't lived up to his draft position. Not many players taken in the top 5 play in the OHL for 4 years until they are 19 who aren't defenders. Also he scored less points as a 19 year old than as a 17 year old in the OHL, definition of regression.

No I don't think we can. He had 55 pts in 30 games post trade last year and 18 in 9 games. He also is in his first pro season (tough to compare with Kapanen although it is fair to say Kap is playing better).

People forget top prospects do not all immediately make an impact. It takes time for a lot of young players. He also is not in the same situation. NYI does not have space for a top 6 type player in their top 6, while we had lots of room for our kids.

He put up in the OHL:

95 points in 66 games in 2013-2014
93 points in 56 games in 2014-2015
75 points in 60 games in 2015-2016

You can't tell me that his point totals weren't disappointing in his 4th year in the OHL as a 19 year old..
Granted he did have a good playoff but he really should be putting up 2 pts/game as a 4th year 19 year old former 5 overall pick.
Every other player in the top 10 in the 2014 draft is making an impact in the NHL while Dal Colle is still doing marginally well in the AHL. Alot worse than say Connor brown did in the AHL as a 20 year old (a former 6th round pick). I'm pretty sure a 19 year old Kapanen put up more points per game in his first year in the AHL playing in the bottom 6 on the Marlies.
To say Dal Colle has not been disappointing is confusing to me.
