Tkachuk - Matthews - Kane would be the Leafs' best line, Hyman - Matthews - Kane, on steroids. Should use that line

That was my thought exactly a few months ago but Connor just keeps lighting the world on fire, ultimately I think any of the left side in the top 6 could play with whoever

take out Gaudreau and Jones and you are pretty close.
Jones has not played well this year. Hard to see them taking him given the current play.
Gaudreau everyone likes to add him but this team will be more stout than that. They have to be to beat team canada. They ain't being them 1 to 1 on skill. It's not even a close to fair matchup skill wise. They have to punish them and out work them. Win the battles on the boards and dirty areas. Because they probably aren't winning on the dot with Bergeron and Crosby there and they ain't got the skill players to match. So this team has to be built like a work horse if they are going to win and contain the speed skill of canada.

I think they put kreider in for gaudreau for the canada matchup depending on how johnny plays, Kreider/BTkachuk - Larkin - Wheeler is one punishing third line. As for jones I think he'll get right but if fox wants to push for that spot youll hear no complaints from me

I’d swap Johnny and Connor personally. His playmaking abilities next to Matthews’s shooting ability would be lethal, and those 3 guys all have top 5 hands imo, top 10 at worst. Plus you keep Connor and Wheels on the same line, their chemistry is great. I’d also swap Miller/Pavs and Boeser/Guentzel (I think Guentzel is better so he should be on line 2, and Boeser+Miller have chemistry too). On D swapping Carlson/McAvoy makes the pairings more balanced imo
