I'd probably keep Schmidt he hasn't been the problem and I don't think I'd make the Fleury trade and try and upgrade the top 6 instead

So basically you'd spend less on goaltending and more on offense

I'm sorry but a number 4 d-man is in no way worth a 1st rounder

Or defense but ya goaltending hasn't been the problem. I'd look at someone like Dell or Brossoit to be the backup

He's a first pair guy on a bunch of teams and a 2nd pair guy on really deep teams. He's a leader for the hawks, 27, right handed, only makes 3.8 mil and isn't a rental. If teams don't want to pay a first that's fine becuase I would rather him just stay in Chicago anyways
Tucson, thesaadfather and Panic76 liked this.

I was thinking of possibilities and I also thought Schmidt to Chicago would make sense. But I think I would package Jake Virtanen and Adam Gaudette with Schmidt for Murphy. Also maybe the Hawks look at unloading the Keith contract. Keith being a BC native he might waive his NMC to come play at home to end his career.
