Leafs fans think that the Leafs can go deep into the playoffs if you have the depth pieces consisting of:
- Pierre Engvall
- Nic Petan
- Jason Spezza
- Ilya Mikheyev
- Alexander Barabanov
- Adam Brooks
- Alexander Kerfoot
As a Leafs fan, am I crazy to think the opposite and recognize that the Leafs are not deep enough for a playoff run?
someone's mad that Spezza has 8 points in 10 games on the 4th line including a hatty. Habs and Leafs are top 2 regular season and playoff teams in the division. I'd say Leafs come out on top but it'd be a tightly contested series

Yeah, and invisible in the playoffs (0 G, 0 A, 0 P), but I would love to see Josh Anderson give old timer Spezza a big clean check lmao

You do know that the Canadiens are the Boston Bruins or Columbus Blue Jackets of the Canadian Division, a team impossible to beat in the playoffs with skill

You do know that Bruins literally have the best line in hockey, Habs have nobody close to the Bruins' top 3. Not even a comparison worth making.
a) Leafs took them to 7 every time, its not like Boston obliterated them
b) Bruins literally have the best line in hockey, Habs have nobody close to the Bruins' top 3
but Price over Rask and Allen over Halak. also Montreals defence overall is better

Excuses as always is what comes from the mouths of Leafs fans, and what was the excuse when the Leafs were shut out by the Blue Jackets in game 5 of the play-in round lmao

Lol no
Price over Rask sure but in those playoffs against the Leafs no goalie was better than Tuuka. Allen is like on par with Halak, but backup goalie rarely makes a difference in a playoff series.
MTL's D is not better.
I'm taking
Krug - Carlo
Chara - McAvoy
Gryzlyck - Miller

yeah they had a bad game 5, I was disappointed in the team. Doesn't mean that those other teams are any better this year.

Why are you comparing the Bruins d-core from last season to the present d-core of the Montreal Canadiens lmao
Why are you comparing the Bruins d-core from last season to the present d-core of the Montreal Canadiens lmao
because you're comparing the Leafs-Boston series to a Leafs-Habs one, so I'm saying that MTL's D this year is not better than the D that TOR went up against playing Boston (or CBJ for that matter)

The Leafs are not a structured, disciplined team, but the Montreal Canadiens are structured/disciplined, which is why I believe they can go farther in the playoffs than the Toronto Maple Leafs

name a team that ever went very far in the playoffs without a real superstar player or two

your top line is great, but our offense overall is better than the bruins. you know, this year we can potentially see a leafs vs habs round in the playoffs, and a habs vs bruins finals too
