You're kidding right, The only decent pieces in the whole deal is Sorokin. The rest you can keep.

Yeah I’d be fine with giving up either of them for mantha, probably not both though.

I wasn't sure he was worth one of them with what else was being given up. Looking at wouldn't you rather lose Wahlstrom because you are getting a some what similar player and everyone is always talking about how is so hard to find at that level?

Who’s gonna be our goalie of the future? Varly can’t play forever. Let’s give him a sample size of more than 3 games before we trade him.

I think sorokin is going to be elite, but we don’t have problems developing goaltenders...mantha is already elite and lee, bailey are going to regress eventually

We don’t have problems developing goaltenders? Have you seen the number of goaltenders we’ve had over the past decade. We finally have a guy that we can potentially rely on for the next decade. I’d do the trade if you take out sorokin and add wahlstrom but elite goal tenders are hard to come by.

Personally I'd rather have Wahlstrom because I'm not a fan of the high end expensive goalie. I think you can find a goalie to fit your team. But Yzerman obviously is because he took Vasilevskiy in the first round and it would be his decision. So you are probably correct in offering Sorokin over Wahlstrom.

Let me reiterate...we have arguably the best goaltending coach in NHL history who can turn an avg G into an above average G - fans think its trotz system, that's a very small part of it. Korn is the goalie guru, and while id like to keep sorokin id give him up to acquire an elite 1st line winger in his prime.

I don't think signing goaltenders to long term deals when theyre UFA at 30 or 31 is a good idea, but sorokin is only 25. I'd either give him a 5-6 year deal after this season and bet on his upside or give him a 1 year deal and sign him long term deal when he's 27.

He’s not god though you’re not gonna do that with every goaltender and elite goal tenders are hard to come by and I’m not giving him up for someone who’s never had a 50 point season.

Robin Lehner and varlamov have both played at an elite level on the isles. Mitch Korn is God.

Mantha was almost at a PPG last season - he's one of the best two way wingers in the league. He's elite and a bonafide 1st line winger.

then put together a package that doesn’t involve giving up our top prospect at this point I’d rather try and develop the young guys than give up sorokin for someone who hasn’t scored 50 points and is struggling this year.
