Buying out MP at this point doesn't make much sense, he's been playing well.

Cap wise it does if we get Dumba. Sending him to the taxi squad instead of buying out incurs like another million which isn’t feasible when adding 6 million

You’d have to include him in the trade, which MIN would probably do. It’s a conundrum because WPG is a logical landing spot for Dumba but Demelo is of little to no interest for them and the WPG prospect pool doesn’t have any real target MIN would want. The logic’s deal revolves around Ehlers but that should be a non starter for WPG.

Pfft Dumba isn’t even remotely close to ehlers in value. A more logical player would be copp +

Ehlers or connor since pld would be a no go.

The wild won't be doing this deal. They aren't taking on Dylan. The ask from Minnesota wild GM has always been a top 6c.

Wild don't need another d, much less expensive one. So easy no from Minnesota side

Ask from Minnesota wild gm for a long time now has been a top 6c or RW. So no, copp who isn't good plus doesn't get deal done

Copp would be their second line centre easily. Very underrated player. If you think anybody is giving up top end talent for Dumba you’re mistaken. Supposedly guerin shopped Dumba all summer and every team scoffed at his asking. Vancouver wouldn’t even think of dealing Boeser for Dumba one for one. Bet he goes for a late to mid first round pick, a mid pick and a B prospect at the deadline lol

Bet you are wrong. the wild don't have to trade him , & can do 4 & 4. No, copp isn't good. He isn't better than Joel Eriksson ek. The wild also have Marco Rossi who will make roster playing 1c or 2c next year.

The wild can also use trade markets, or free agency after expansion to sign top 6c.

You aren't a GM unite NHL to say what Dumba Value is. The Wi km d GM has an asking price, & doesn't have to budge off it. You have an opinion, that's all

Matt Dumba has more career goals, Assists, , Points, & +- than copp. So that means Dumba has more value

A 1st and an A-/B+ prospect should be the return. As @ModanoisCool said, BG knows what he wants and he’s willing to play the game in order to get it. The biggest thing with Dumba has been whether he can regain his form (he has) and his cap hit. While I agree that a top 6 C is more than Dumba is worth, Ehlers is really the best bet for MIN but Ehlers is too important for WPG for the deal to work. WPG just doesn’t have the non roster assets to get this done.

Copp is a good player, but he’s a 3C and that’s just not a good enough piece to build around.
