A bunch of no move clauses would have to be waived so this is clearly awkward but ignore that.

We don't want Koskinen but neither will Seattle. If Van sits on Holtby, Seattle will take him. If we leave them no good option, we can haggle to get them to take Myers. Then we spend one year eating Loui, Koskinen, Beagle and Roussell's money, get done with that and we have a bonus mid first to show for our troubles. Edm gets the two things they need right now and everyone could be happy except Canuck fans for the next 18 months.

I don't think this makes sense. switching Holtby and Koskinen doesn't really do anything. Seattle still has the option to take Koskinen when we protect demko

Why would they ever take Koskinen? He's a bottom 3 goalie in the NHL. They whole idea is to have bad players available so they are more interested in dealing. Koskinen is that and then some.

Hot take alert.

Koskinen?

The guy who Kevin Woodley called a top-7 goalie in the NHL last season, was 0.01 off Markstrom last season in sv%?

The same guy who stopped 43/44 against Calgary the other night?

Right.

Bottom 3.

Carry on.

seattle isn't gonna take holtby, allen and dridger are better options at cheaper value
I would rather have koski over holtby
Oilers will probably protect koski as they don't really have another goalie they need to protect

Allen and Dridger could be X amount better. But I dont see any assessment of the other players that would be available from Mtl or Fla. I know what Van will be offering Seattle and it's not pretty.

If you value Koskinen over Holtby then have him. I promise that is not a shared opinion outside of Edm. (not that Holtby is holding much value either)

The guy played 10 games in a row to start the season, of course that'll cause issues in his save percentage. Since Smith has come back, Koskinen has allowed 5 goals on 99 shots, one of which should not have even counted.

Since you seem particularly open minded... here's some reading material for you. Woodley is one of -- if not THE -- most respected goalie analysts in the public sphere.

https://muckrack.com/kevin-woodley

Not sure why the first part of his linked articles are movie reviews, possibly different guy. Click to expand and you'll see what he writes about NHL goalies.

And no, not an Edmonton homer. He covers VAN for nhl.com and other outlets.

two homers for edmonton don't equal an opinion to me. i can just ignore you and your new second account.

Koskinen 7 saves on 10 shots. Gotta trade him now. You wanna use one game samples, I can use one period samples.
