I was thinking he buys him out and just gets a free 2nd rounder in a pretty stacked 2022 draft.

Buys him out? That would cost the Wings over the next 12 years. Come on be serious. That is not even close to what it would take to dump that contract. It would cost Wings 2.47 million in real dollars, for the next 12 years, plus all the cap ramifications. Yeah you are dreaming, in this cap freeze covid era NO team is going to do that.
