At least get an extension in place if you're giving up a 1st.

If MTL miss the playoffs, chances are Bergevin lose his job. If he feel likes Molson has his back maybe, but it doesn't help MTL short term.

unlikely you'd have to give up a first.

Probably, but I think that should Habs be out of contention near the playoffs, a player like Armia after a good year could start a bidding war in the market.

From Dallas point of view, it's trading a meh bottom-6 forward to a high-tier mid-6 forward with the cost of downgrading from the ~20th position to ~70th one in a relatively weak draft. So techincally DAL might turn out winners here.

I would never give our first round pick for Armia. The probability that we will be in the lotery are pretty high. And Armia is UFA at the end of this season.

I'm trusting that DAL will eventually take that 4th place of the division. CBJ, NSH, CHI and DET are all looking so bad, it'd almost be sacrilege to lose the playoff spot to those guys.

As I said earlier, the trade is essentially upgrading from Comeau to Armia with the cost of dropping back around 50 picks in the draft. Worth a shot imo, considering how good Armia has been this year.

You are more optimistic than I am. In order to make that 4 spot, they need to produce at around a .650 pace and they still have to play 16 times against Tampa, Florida and Carolina. On top of that, they have an incredibly tough schedule because of COVID and the storms in Texas. And let’s not forget the injuries to Seguin, Bishop, Radulov and Hintz who is jumping on and off the lineup.

They are toast this year IMO.

Trade BC for Alex Barre-Boulet or any kind of players like him. It’s time to rejuvenate this team with youth and offense.

I've seen enough games this year. DAL is looking bad now due to no consistent games, but they'll manage. I can't see CHI keeping their current form long-term, that team is too light. CBJ and NSH has looked extremely weak. And DET ain't even a challenge.

They have 16 games against tougher opponents, that leaves around 20 against the weaker ones. And they won't be losing all of these games. The players will come back and they'll show what they're made of. That's my two cents.

Stars are awful at even strength. They managed at the beginning of the year because of their PP. Even during these games they were bad at 5 on 5 against bad teams.

Their system is a textbook system from the ‘50 and even a coaching change would do not much because of lack of practice time.

This will surely be the most incredible collapse. Going from a SC final to a lottery pick.

I have watch all their games and it’s torture.

Hawks will grab that 4 spot. All these talented young player growing besides the incredibly Kane are a joy to watch. And Kane just scored his 400 while I was typing this.

I admit that they offensively have been miserable. It's kinda proven by the fact that Klingberg has been our best forward on even strength. The only problem is that he's a D.

Pavelski and Radulov have also more than a point per game, but that's mostly due to their PP.

I'm still optimistic. I don't think we're that bad. The game against Tampa, we lost 5-0, but Stars didn't particularly look bad in terms of mistakes. The play was just anemic and inefficient. Completely different from CBJ and NSH in their latest games - their play looked very confusing to say the least.

I think this team needs a some kind of wake up call. But as long as the coaching system and the GM keep up being as conservative as they are, there'll be no shakeup coming.

If Stars upgrade in terms of performance in the next 15 games, I'd consider an upgrade like this. But if they keep on sucking, then it's time to close the curtains on this season and enhance our prospect pool.

Stars have played 4 games less than other teams. There's potentially 8 points there, which could be very, very significant, as the season comes to a close.
