No thank you... Vatanen isn't what we really need, I would be inclined to make a trade for Manson but I don't think I'd want to give up JVR in that case

Now if were talking Lindholm than that's another story.... I just don't think you want to trade him away at all

You know on paper it looks like a fair trade, but it isn't really what the Leafs desire. Vatanen is a nice RHD, but JVR is one of few Leafs forwards. And Nylander might be going to centre (he is tonight) and Kapanen is the Leafs top prospect.
Agree with LeafFan about Vatanen and Manson. Maybe before expansion the Ducks will look for trading partner (Leafs) for their "4" Dman which the Ducks won't be able to protect.

JVR alone would be enough for Vatanen, let alone the Leafs best prospect.

I think this is close, look at the Taylor hall trade, that's likely the value for Vatanen as well.... With the third rounder I think this trade is pretty even, still don't think Toronto would give up Kapanen though. Maybe you would have better luck if it was something like, JVR + a conditional 3rd/2nd for Vatanen.
