Pointless trade for both teams really but Habs decline first.

Bob sucks: literally lost his job.

Price; sucks rn but he was good/ decent prior (last year + playoffs)

Habs would rather stick with their guy 9.99/10 times, Price has more upside whereas Bob sucked last year and lost his job this year.

Both are in a bad slump, only reason why I did this is bc they have similar contracts

Both contracts suck but Bobs is slightly less of a buyout burden in the short term, Price buying out in the next 2 seasons is cap suicide in comparison

no Price isnt a slump, hes been regressing over the past 3 years, this isnt a new development with him. That is what aging curves are...hes falling victim to regression and now its just a steeper curve for him this year vs the previous ones

Imo its a mix he's old and def regressing but he's also in a slump he's playing bad hockey.

the point is its not a slump, this is the new normal for him. He will be bad and underwhelming more often than he is playing at a top end level. That is what his numebrs have been showing over the previous seasons, nose diving.

What is compounding this is people believed he was back bc he beat the penguins and what put up maybe 7-8 game stretch of respectable hockey. The bought into a playoff series as him being "back"

Very true, you have def changed my opinion, I am still a Price believer but you have changed my view on him.

Edit: As a fan at least.

Its not saying he will never play good hockey ever again, but his days of a top goalie, even a top 15 league average starter are looking very much behind him. Hes been a bottom 60 starter statistically for a while now. Its more that a bad stretch despite what the eye tests are trying to tell people or last years excuse of blaming the Defense....there was an analysis at his numbers last year showing even when the D improved in front of him in terms of shot suppression his goals above expected etc stayed constant. He was playing poor despite the level of D in front of him
