might be wise to let him walk

Description
RMNB writer had the idiotic thought that Washington should pay Ovechkin close to McDavid money. Last 3 seasons Ovechkin is #19 in points but #1 in goals. Great example would be Malkin is a UFA the year after Ovechkin. One could argue that Malkin has been the better player the last 3 season. Does Pittsburgh even consider paying him 10million +? doubtful. im not in favor of paying a premium for a diminishing product. that money can be spent elsewhere to help the Capitals be a contender. if not they risk becoming a lottery team bc Ovechkin doesnt possess the abiltiy to carry a team all by himself.

look at Kuzys CF% FF% and xGF%..... ill come back. He's killing it this year

If he'd only play like how he's playing the last few games consistently, he would be an untouchable to me.

Here's my concern on the Ovi negotiations.
Backy signed for 5 years and got a nice raise. He got this nice raise because he was very, very underpaid at 6.7 for the length of that long deal.
Ovi situation is different. He has been one of the highest paid players these 13 years. He should not get any where near the bump Backy got because their situations are completely different. If Ovi is expecting this same type of scenario, he is mistaken.

i agree. Backy was very underpaid .... Ovechkin either wants to win and break a record or lose and be rich...i would let him walk this team has enough leadership if ovi wants to be greedy.... Backy Oshie and Wilson. Russians have been very very inconsistent

i think hes trying to learn how to be a complete player and thats negatively effecting his scoresheet but his advance metrics are amazing right now....he has the best xGF% on the team.... he was the worst last year that's quite a jump
