Problem with this is that even if the value is there (maybe a small change needed) this doesn't make sense for either side. Eichel wants to be on a playoff team now, and even if the Sens look to get good soon, he won't want to sit around. The Sens are still young and rebuilding and have the ability to be patient and have their star prospects develop into the pieces they need, they dont need to rush to add someone who's already developed. Adding Eichel also disturbs the room a bit bc you're introducing a player who instantly becomes the teams best player but who hasn't had success as a leader in Buffalo, all while you have existing young stars who are trying to establish themselves as leaders of the team. Eichel to the Sens doesn't make any sense.

He's 24 year old and already arguably a top 5 centre in the league, every team should be in on Jack Eichel. If you think he's too old to fit the Sens rebuild, I'll remind you that he's either the same age as, or younger, than all of our players signed for three years or more with the exception of the guys still on their ELC's. Also although it may not look like it all the time, we're not that far away from becoming competitive, and adding Eichel would half the time it would take.

And what if Eichel comes, plays horrible and you have 10.2 mil for 5 more years and you don't have brannstrom and picks. also Sens would have to give up stuztle too to finish this trade or at least a first to make Buffalo not hang up right away. and if sens do horrible again then you lose a to 7 pick.

You could make this case for any trade, "what if _____ comes in and plays bad and we lost ______ and ______ for nothing." Trades are always a calculated risk, and if the price is right then Dorion should pull the trigger.
