Why would Vancouver do this? After this year, Baertschi is a UFA and Eriksson only has one year left while Skinner has 6 and it doesn't matter if you retain 50% either. I have only one less goal that Skinner this year and I am an old out of shape dude.

But that one Skinner goal was pretty nasty. Given the Canucks cap situation, it is a solid bribe but I don't think they take it.

the Skinner contract is unmovable. The term is the dagger. Sabres can't retain any amount of that for that length of time, Gm's don't want to spend money during covid so its shaping up to be a buyers market. Eriksson contract is almost done anyways. That Skinner contract is going to haunt the Sabres worse than almost any contract ever.

why would buf do this. Why would they trade skinner who needs ralph fired so he can actually be good again.

Its no coincidence that once ralph was hired, skinner began to suck

Thats gunna cost Buffalo 3.5 Million against the cap for 7 years just to not have a player. I don't think thats the move because on top of still paying 3.5 million you are still going to have to pay a brutal cost to get a team to even take the other 3.5.
