Description

The offence is fine, and so is the defence, but like every team, we’re thinner in that regard. So just to make it that much better and deeper and safe for the playoffs, they should consider getting a guy like ekholm. He can replace a guy like Muzzin or even rielly to a certain extent. If either of those guys are injured in the playoffs, we have a perfectly good ekholm to fill in that roll. I understand wanting a forward, but we have guys who we can replace guys with, we don’t have much of that on d.

Ok. And what do you propose you do for the expansion draft?

All for acquiring a little D depth, but it has to be an expiring contract.

This makes it more difficult to protect your players come expansion draft though.

As mentioned above with the expansion draft things would get complicated. If we were to target a defenseman, it would have to be someone who's a rental, so maybe a Savard or Hamonic. You can try to resign them in the offseason if possible but at this point adding a defenseman would probably be a pure rental.

We can't he has 2 years under contract left. If you mean can we let him go in the draft then yes we can. But he's gonna be expensive to acquire so if we let him go after half a season it won't be worth it. Unless we win the cup and he plays a big role.
