Detroit Says No but what if

Created by: JacobLyons
Team: 2021-22 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 10, 2021
Published: Mar. 10, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If Brent Burns decides to not waive his 3 team list, it’s more likely that one of Simek or Gambrell will go to Seattle.
Some of this is troll, but if Sharks tank (badumtis), they’re picking Owen Power 1st overall.

    Title says it all.

    Wings would definitely say No.

MEV's contract is an anchor and you gave up no 1st or any of your top prospects to unload a 7 million contract for 6 years for a guy who is past his prime, without giving up anything.

Shark fans have to hope he retires or goes on LTIR, because the cost to unload his contract is almost not worth what it would take to get rid of it.

Not enough to give up on that anchor of a contract of MEV, Detroit's not bailing out the Sharks that much if he were 10 years younger then it might be a reasonable contract but not now. And Bobby Ryan is probably going to resign back with Detroit this summer if we trade him he's already said he wants to retire in Detroit and Yzerman would love to resign him.
