Well, well, well... We get the GOAT Cody Ceci. Accept Accept Accept.

But actually, I would love this trade. Pittsburgh can give Fleury a change of scenery and they get a 3rd on top of that. And, for us we get Bjorkqvist who has half a point per game in the Liiga, so he is a great add to our stacked prospect pool, we get Cody Ceci who is actually impressing me, currently playing a mile better than Fleury. And a lovely 2nd rounder as the cherry on top.

If I were Don Waddell, I'd definitely accept this.

I mean I guess... obviously Fleury has more upside, but he's played like doodoo this year. I'd be okay with it. The only problem is Ceci would basically be a rental for the Canes as his contract expires after this season while the Pens would have a year or 2 more of control, and I'm not sure if Ceci is the kind of player you go for as a rental. Plus, Fleury is kind of the Canes' Kraken Bait right now, and I'd rather Seattle take him over Skjei or Gards who are playing better. I doubt they'd take Ceci even if the Canes resigned him, if they really wanted him they'd probably sign him in free agency.

I can't believe I'm reading this. As if there is some huge market for Ceci out there at the end of the season, or that a wise team wouldn't be best to sign him to another 1 year deal at the end of it instead of making the huge inevitable mistake of signing him to a long term contract.
But ok, sure, it's an issue tears of joy

Björkqvist I don't think is in the plans for either of these teams moving forward. Just being honest. 23 not in the AHL, isn't a good look. Especially given the injury issues.

So Ceci and a 2nd for Fleury and a 3rd.

I don't know that CAR does this. Even if you say Fleury is having a bad year, pulling Ceci out of an area where he's playing well and thinking he'll do the same in CAR is risky business.
Believe me it could get worse than Fleury. At least CAR knows what they got in him.

I think Ceci is really a buyer beware. The penguins are much more likely to find success with Fleury than CAR is to find it with Ceci. That's just my opinion.
