Sensitive? Im just not dumb enough to pay to get rid of what we are referring to as a pending UFA. If both situations are loose-loose then you take the one with less of a negative impact on the future.
What exactly makes the above deal good? Lets assume Bennett and Gudbranson cancel eachother out here, we are left with a 1st for a struggling in the AHL 23yo prospect and a 3rd. That is horrid
No, no kiddo, the snap decision to jump into slandering other people shows your fragility and sensitivity.
Gudbranson and Bennett don't cancel each other out. Before Bennett requested a trade maybe, but he has played his stock into the dirt and has negative value with his contract. Gudbranson fits the 3RD spot in Calgary as opposed to the rotating door of bad Nesterov and really bad Kylington.
There isn't two separate deals here, don't try make it that way, it's a 1st, likely between 10-20, and a bad Sam Bennett for an overpaid Gudbranson that is off the book at the end of the year, a more skilled bigger body in the bottom 6 that isn't a UFA at the end of the year and can re sign for less than 900K and actually plays C as opposed to Bennett who just thinks he can plus and a really high third round pick.
The more I actually talk about the trade the more it actually makes sense, Logan Brown competing for a spot with Gawdin for 4C next year, if not he's an in house bottom 6 winger, has the potential to play on the PP according to a lot of Sens fans.
It's really high untapped skill potential vs. Low skill, crash and bag, walk at the end of the year.
