1st and 3rd might get it done...but I agree I would a first to dump Byron and 3rd/2nd for Tierney

Love that forward group how about throwing in a couple of top 4 defenders.

Yes, but a good deal for 1b and the other way I look at it is that he is worth 3m more than White. Not sure but when you add Ekholm, it has to be pretty close.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Claesson4Norris</b></div><div>I like Ekholm a lot, but he only has one year after this, and will be expensive and difficult to re-sign. Johansen is straight up not as good as Colin White, and his Contract is atrocious. Ottawa shouldn't hamstring themselves like this for the sake of experience.</div></div>
I think White is a tweener good 3rd line center below average 2nd line center...not sure about when he plays on the wing. Johansen is not what he was but still a good 2nd line center that might be a 1b with a new team. Worth the risk.
1 year of ekholm is tough but i think he would be a good mentor to the Sens. Ottawa can always get the value back by trading him at the deadline next year when Sanderson is ready to step up to top 4

Ottawa takes this and runs, if I was Doiron I would even give one of our seconds instead of a 3rd

rebuild the rebuild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>oilersfan150</b></div><div>What are these trades????</div></div>
They are 3 trades that are not going to happen that some bored guy posted. I will unsuccessfully try to defend all of them. The goal was to improve 3 struggling teams now and set up the fourth team for the future.
Ott-edm trade: edm desperately needs a #1 dman and a power forward with attitude. Also it will make the battle of alberta way more interesting.
Ott-buf trade: rumors are tha eichel wants out and he always wanted to play for a big city team LA/NY. Leon and eichel have similar value i might put a small advantage to Leon. That along with eichel wanting out and 1.5m savings between contracts i think a protected first is reasonable compensation.
Ott-la: LA has arguably the best prospect pool in the league and the package i think is pretty standart for a top 10 player signed long term.
The hardest team to defend are the senators, why would they give up there 2 most popular players and the answer is they would not but... Chabot is the only top 3 dman on the team its going to take the D 3-4 years to be competitive and by that time the forward brady, stuzle, batherson, noris...etc will all be making max money and for a cap team its not going to be affordable. I think a small market team that won't spend to the cap and can't attract the big free agents has to have the best prospect pool. Build the team from the net out and build through your prospects and unfortunately trade your best players when they get to the point when you have to over pay them.
