I’m not sure edmonton can get Barrie for 5million. I also don’t think they can afford Jenner. That’s too cheap for RNH. Edmonton has to lose somebody to Seattle. There is a chance Klefbom is back next season

Decline, not even remotely interested in the return CBJ is getting back in this deal. Jenner and Elvis are loved here and will be hard to pry away without overpaying since i don’t think CBJ want to trade Jenner at all and i think hes happy here. We would get better offers from other teams that have more players of interest to us. I think its more a mismatch of trade partners and i’m not sure you have the ammunition or willing to give it up, to make it happen. We believe either elvis or korpi can be our franchise goaltender, so that is essentially what a team will be getting when they acquire one of them in our view.

Barrie: Depends on what he's looking for. He seems comfortable here and maybe that trumps a slightly better offer.
Jenner: That's fair, I wasn't sure about him, was just looking at 3C type options and he might be too pricey for that.
RNH: I wouldn't be so sure that he's getting more than that. If he's asking $7m I'm walking away, with $6.5m being the ceiling.
Expansion: Yeah, they may lose Jones or another depth D, but I didn't factor that because they can probably just sign a guy for league minimum that provides the same quality of play.
Klefbom: I wouldn't count on Klefbom being back. Even if he is, it's highly likely that he's on the shelf again within a year. His shoulder is arthritic and anything they do to it is only putting a band-aid on the problem because it almost certainly will flair up again.

I get why. I was very uncertain about the value of this deal. If Jenner is taken out of it, do the pieces come close for one of your two goalies? Both guys are 26 years old and a year away from UFA status. I doubt you will be retaining them both, as one of them probably wants to take a serious run at being a starter somewhere for more money.

From the sounds of it Klefbom could be out till December just on Rehabing from the surgery.

Not sure what surgery he's getting whether it is a full replacement or just a meniscus rebuffing. The fact hes going for surgery sounds like his arthritis didnt actually improve from rest.

From everything I've read about joint replacement, it would in all likelihood be career ending. A joint replacement is supposedly great for everyday life for people that aren't professional athletes, but the joint is at heightened risk of dislocation vs an original joint, not exactly conducive to contact sports. So realistically, the options for Klefbom are probably a) play a few more years and be in pain on-and-off, or b) get a shoulder replacement and be pain-free, but retire.
