And hard pass on Glendenning. His sole skill is winning faceoffs, and granted he's exceptional at doing so, but brings little else to the table. Haas skates better, has a possible upside in skill, is also right handed, and cheaper.

Merzlikins is high on many trade bait boards. Will CBJ run a Korpisalo - Merzlikins duo? I doubt it. That would cost big time money and is a waste of value. Trade one. Merzlikins sounds like the guy. He's a UFA next summer and he likely leaves Columbus like everyone else

I like Haas. I like Patrick Russell. I like Nygard. These are all guys we currently have that aren't relied on for production, clearly. Why is one or multiple in the lineup each night? I suppose Haas and Nygard are fast. Patrick Russell works hard, as Tippett puts it. That really means nothing though. Glendening produces more than all of these guys (with Detroit might I add) and is 67% at faceoffs. 67% is the best in the league. Imagine gaining possession on 2 thirds of penalty kills as opposed to our current % which is likely below 50 (Drai being drastically overworked on draws might inflate the stat, which comes with its own price). Our current bottom 6 centerman, Haas and Kharia are well below 50%. Very costly. Glendening produces more offense then Haas and adds a useful tool that none of our bottom 6 guys bring. Our current bottom 6 centers really don't offer anything. I like Kharia on the wing

Kharia - Glendening - XX on the 4th line next year and then bring in an actual 3C would be perfect
