JVR to the kings

Created by: Canadian_Rednek
Team: 2016-17 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 28, 2016
Published: Dec. 28, 2016
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The goal this year was development and to be playing meaningful games at years end. I think this roster can still do that. Not only has it gotten younger it still has a catalyst on the top 3 lines that can drive play and score so the offence should not slow down much if at all. The only change made to the defence was switching Polak for a platoon of Pokka, Pulock, and Corrado who should be able to fill the hole left. Jarry cleans up the backup goaltending issue and does not need to be protected in the expansion draft.
The Leafs protect 3 forwards: Kadri, Brown, and Komarov;
5 defencemen: Reilly, Gardiner, Carrick, Pulock, and Pokka;
1 goalie: Anderson

Ps I'm not sure what do make of Scuderi's contract when I look at the kings roster it says his cap hit is 3M+ but after the trade it a 1/3 of that so make of that as you will.
Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Cernak, Erik
  2. Kempe, Adrian
  3. Purcell, Teddy
  4. Scuderi, Rob
  5. 2017 1st round pick (LAK)
  6. 2017 3rd round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
Scuderi and Purcell make the money work and both are buried contracts anyways. 3rd is to take the contracts. And rest is the price for JVR.
2.
TOR
  1. Pulock, Ryan
Additional Details:
Holl balances contracts, the Leafs don't want to take on too many contracts. And Bracco and 3rd is fair because Pulock needs to be protected and Islanders can't.
NYI
  1. Holl, Justin
  2. 2017 3rd round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
Rights to Jeremy Bracco;
Pre expansion draft
3.
TOR
  1. Fehr, Eric
  2. Jarry, Tristan
  3. 2017 1st round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
I'm not overly sure about this one. Fehr is a cap dump but Jarry is an upgrade over anything the Leafs currently have in their system. And the 1st is going to most likely be a bottom 5 pick.
PIT
  1. Bozak, Tyler ($1,200,000 retained)
  2. Leivo, Josh
  3. Sparks, Garret
Additional Details:
Bibeau is to balance out the goaltending situation. Bozak is an upgrade at the 3C and is reunited with Kessel. Leivo is a depth price that should do well in their system if he's given a chance.
4.
TOR
  1. Krüger, Marcus ($583,333 retained)
  2. Pokka, Ville
  3. 2017 3rd round pick (CHI)
CHI
  1. Polák, Roman ($1,125,000 retained)
  2. Rychel, Kerby
5.

You can either protect 4d and 4f or 3d and 5f. You cannot protect 5d and 3f.

I don't know where you get your information but is 7 forwards and 3 dmen or 8 players. And I got that directly from the NHL website.

Is that a serious trade for JVR?

Don't know why you're so down and Bibeau (or Woll) but is Jarry that much better? Can never understand all this Pokka love. Age 22, third year in North America.....Zero games in NHL. Would think he would have beat out at least one of the bottom four of the Hawks Dmen if he is NHL good. I'll agree that Isles likely will not "have to" trade Hamonic or Pulock, and while Bracco does have trade appeal, career minor league Holl does not. Shirley, some team will offer more,

Seriously why is JVR suddenly worth 3/4 of a teams prospects and picks?

Palhal: I'm not down on either of those goalies but looking at stats Jarry is much better than Bibeau. And much closer to being relevant in the NHL compared to Woll. And some players develop later than others and Pokka has done well in the AHL on a bad hockey team. Holl is not there for appeal, he's there because the Leafs are getting close to the 50 man roster and need to dump a contract or two.

And Nick I do not know what your trying to say?
