Description

This is my prediction on how the Devils future team would look like. Obviously, things will change.

2LHD could be Luke Hughes or whoever the Devils draft in 2021 (likely going to be a LHD)

I wasn't sure about Miles Wood, he could be part of the future or his spot could be taken by Maltsev.

Don't worry about the contracts/cap space

Looks pretty good, but I still think this team needs some more offensive weapons -- not sure this will be a playoff team unless these prospects all meet their expectations. which isn't a given.

Also, it's kinda disappointing that only one piece out of the Taylor Hall trade is on the "future" starting roster -- and he's only a bottom pairing defenseman. We'll still have to see about the 2021 3rd rounder, but that's 5 pieces and only 1 makes the team.

The Hall trade wasn't that bad when you look at it. Mercer looks like a great prospect, Bahl could be a shutdown defensemen, Merkley was taken in the expansion draft to save Kuokknean, and a 3rd

Ah that's my bad -- I thought Mukhamadullin was selected with the ARI 1st but it was Mercer. Mercer should turn out to be a pretty good 2nd/3rd line option I think.

Yeah, I mean y'all got a big budget, Barrie, Simmonds, guys like them can really help. Maybe trade for Virtannen or Bennet this team needs vets other than Zajac

I wasn't too happy with the pick when it initially happened. I didn't even know who he was lol. But learning more about him, I think he has a good amount of potential. He's big, can skate and has a cannon of a shot. I think he could be a top 4 defensemen for the Devils behind Smith (unless they draft a LHD)
