I don't think Seattle takes Carlsson. Last year this time...yeah maybe, but when 3 (maybe 4...let's see on Wyatt) rookies beat you out...you're value drops considerably.

Maybe they take carpenter then? TBH I think they see more upside in Carlson.

If I was Seattle...I have 31 picks and can afford to take a few risks. They can't even play all 31 players. ANylander is who I'm taking. Hawks are positioned better than most teams for expansion. It's worth taking a risk. Just my opinion if I were the Kraken gm.

Alex Nylander is easily protected with the current team though. Even with Toews protected, which is kind of up in the air and depends on if he plays again.

If you want to trade Nylander as an asset to get them to take on Seabrook, then that's a different story, but he shouldn't be outright exposed.

I think they might take Carlsson or Carpenter too. De Haan will probably be the best option available but he's an UFA after 1 season with a $4.55m cap hit that they might prefer to use in free agency. They could take Carlsson and control his rights for at least a couple more seasons after signing an RFA deal. Carpenter filled out the Vegas Golden Knights' bottom 6 on their Stanley Cup Final run and Seattle could see a similar role for him on the Kraken. He also would be a low risk selection or someone they could sign to an extension immediately or in season on a value contract.
