I think Garland would require the leafs to give up Robertson which doesn't make sense for Toronto because he'll be getting a big extensions after this year while Robertson has 3 years after this on an ELC

So what happens with Garland next year? The Leafs are in no position to spend assets on a player that is due for at least a 500% raise.

There's a pretty good reason that Dubas mentioned rentals make more sense this year.
