Petersen

Doughty, Roy, Walker

Kopitar, Iafallo, Kempe, AA, Grundstrom, Andersson, Moore

We either lose Frk or Clague

Made an adjustment to the Werenski trade.

Byfield and Vilardi can switch up between who's the 2nd line based on the game. Bringing in Granlund on an AA type deal gives Byfield a linemate who's responsible two ways and has the ability to drive play.

This is as close to an accurate roster next season as I’d believe they go with. Of course there’s trade speculation in the air about Quick but if it’s possible to make a playoff push this season then I don’t see why they can’t keep him and he either is taken by Seattle or they could trade him in the offseason. Secondly, if they are doing a playoff push then why not do a trade that has long term implications, like adding a Laine or Mantha. I don’t necessarily believe we need these players but they could benefit the organization and give us a more complete roster than before. Naturally Brown and Carter’s contracts are up after next season so that would open up some spots for younger players like Kaliyev, Kupari, or ****emo etc. if they don’t bring either back which they may do Brown on one year contracts but I wouldn’t believe they’d do the same for Carter. I digress, but overall it’s definitely a solid roster and makes me excited for the rest of this season and the seasons to come

Way too much for the Kings to give up, Kings have tons of cap space and should just sign a vet until whatever LD they pick with their first-rounder is ready.

I think I offered a deal with Turcotte in it a few weeks ago. Watching him now, you can’t trade him. Turcotte, Kaliyev, and Byfield are dominating in Ontario right now. Kupari could be moved for the right price, but he looks like he’s rounding into form also. Mikey Anderson is a nice stop gap for now. There’s no need to sell the farm at this point.

I have seen forums that protect him, I'm assuming any extension is done before the expansion

The trade is done on draft night, 2 days after the expansion

Werenski's a top pairing D-man. Plus I'm getting them to take Maatta's contract, so that's gonna cost me a little.

For me, I'd prefer if Carts retired. Love him as a fan, but it's time. Excited to see Kaliyev score 20 goals as a rookie, he has that kind of ability. I'd pass on Laine. Too many issues with 2 different teams now.

I'd go with a proven commodity, draft picks are like lottery tickets. I mean look at Clague, hasn't panned out yet. Of course one failed pick doesn't mean they all are gonna fail, I'd just prefer a proven player and Werenski's still young

Do you think CBJ will take Vilardi instead? I'd rather not move Kupari, because he's so versatile as a C/RW option like Carter. I'm more concerned about Bjornfot, I think Mikey's proven he's at least a #4. Toby may still need a year, and any playoff team needs 3 very good D-men. We have Drew and Roy. I'm not really sold on Walker being a part of our future D-core, he doesn't really drive the 2nd PP unit at all and to me he kind of caps out as a 3rd pairing puck mover.

. Yeah I totally get that and would say of the 5 veterans, his play seems to have fallen off the most but I don’t think Carter will retire. Being so close to the end of his contract and some of recent things McClellan has said about him being a guy who makes all players feel comfortable and who has the respect of veterans and rookies alike is invaluable makes me believe the coach likes what he brings at this point in the twilight of his career, even if it isn’t point production like it used to be. Maybe Laine isn’t the answer but I think he’d benefit from playing with more gifted centers than what Columbus has. Roslovic is good and I’m not even sure if Domi or Foligno are centers and I couldn’t even tell you who else plays center there but Vilardi I think would be great with Laine but long term, Laine may be more trouble than he’s worth
