Only Granlund is retained.

0.5 year of Granlund (1.63M cap hit) < 2.5 years of Kerfoot (2.7M owing)

So is Ekholm for Dermott, 1st, 2nd and B+ prospect not enough? Think back to the Muzzin trade, the leafs gave up a B+ prospect, a B prospect and a 1st....

I said in the trade that Chicago will be involved eating up half of granlunds salary - which would pretty near fit him in the cap. Leafs would likely not have to give up much more than a 3rd to Chicago.

Granlund is the better player even if Kerfoot is signed longer it's not going to be 1 for 1. Dermott is not a prospect. I think if they are looking for prospects they'd rather get someone like Kral, Hollowell or Niemela.
