Description

I'm not going to sit here and act like I wasn't guilty of creating about a dozen ACGM posts about how the Rangers could acquire Eichel. Guilty as charged. I credit that to 3 specific reasons at the time...

1) Zibenejad was still struggling mightily.
2) Strome still had the distinction of being a mediocre player held up by Panarin.
3) We're a big market. Anytime something bright and shiny is mentioned, we feel we NEED to have it.

Fast Forward to now, where logic has caught up...

1) The real Zibenejad is still here. He's back. We have a 1C. And even if we resign him him after next year, he will cost about the same as Eichel, without giving up Prospects.
2) Strome is legit. He has quieted the naysayers. I doubt the Cap will allow us to keep him long term. But we have a solid combo up top for next Season, without a trade.
3) The youth movement for this team is more important than 1 player. While the Center Depth will have to be dealt with at some point, our Depth everywhere else is fantastic. Let the kids play. See what we have.

This isn't the NBA. One large trade for 1 player isn't the answer. Stay the course. Embrace the youth.

I think we just need to give Miller 2-3 years and he’ll be that guy.

I like what Miller has brought to the table. And Lindgren is solid, too.

Stay the course with them up top. Plug in Tarmo and Hajek for now, while you wait for Robertson or Zac Jones on the Left. Think they are good on D.

We have that plus we have prospects if it isn’t that. Reality is that no other teams will pay as much as we can, it’ll likely be around kravtsov (I would hope to heck that we can somehow throw trouba in it and make it kravtsov,chytil trouba, Georgiev, (another prospect), 1st

If we could pull off a deal for less than the perceived market price (according to Sabres fans on this site) then so be it. But in no way do I want to ship out any of our potential studs.

i created 3 different Buffalo rosters just to prove how much more the sabers could get for Eichel rather than New York getting him. New York can do much better with out him, and The team has been very good without Quinn/Oliver/Martin coaching even tho the media keeps insisting that the coaches are following Quinn's final say. They just need a very strong goalie to get them even better,

Yeah, guys will get moved at some point. Can't play Lafreniere on the 3rd line forever (as long as he starts earning top line duties). Trouba would never OK a trip to Buffalo, but that is without a doubt the most troublesome Contract on this Roster by far. I could definitely see it creating issues sooner than later.
