RULES:
1. no trades (between other teams or to seattle. all teams are using their current rosters as of today)
2. no waived NMCs (except seabrook because he retired)
3. followed proper expansion draft rules
4. only pending UFAs i predicted would extend with their team before the draft (and therefore need to be protected) are ovi, rask, nuge, oesterle, iafallo, and landeskog. all other UFAs were left unsigned, and unprotected. they can, however, be selected as long as 20 players selected are under team control in 2022.
5. taxi squad is for extra players who will be traded.
feel free to ask why any player i have here was not protected. there are some that will be a surprise but i have a reason for all of them being left unprotected. the fact that no trades and no waived NMCs are my rules makes for a lot of good players being unprotected. this obviously will be far from what will actually happen but is a prediction as the teams currently stand.
Why pick Bastian over Merkley? Merkley has more upside compared to Bastian
merkley might not meet eligibility requirements if he gets put on the taxi squad. i had originally picked him but decided to pick someone who would 100% be eligible.

That's not how that works. The 20 GR is for fulfilling New Jersey's exposure requirement. Whether he fulfills the exposure requirement or not does not affect if he is eligible to be selected by Seattle.

ah thanks. some of the details regarding eligibility for draft and eligibility for exposure are a bit confusing and not very clear. appreciate you clearing that up.

No problem. I thought the same as you before someone pointed that out to me.
If Seattle isn't getting trades than I think they don't spend cap on the Expansion draft.
Why would they?
They will be killer in the FA game, because there is no tax, it's a flat cap world, and they got money to spend and FA want paid.
An over pay in the flat cap world is a normal years contract.
So if they aren't collecting picks, they got no reason not to take a min salary guy from a lot of these teams instead of inheriting their dead weight contracts like Kerfoot or Gourde.
Seattle doesn't owe these teams to help them with their cap hell, and they can very well spend that money on better plaeyrs.
