I'm genuinely curious as to why you think that? Do you think that the Devils can get more for those players individually bc I can see that being the case and this being a good base for a deal.

Palm's we're going to hopefully resign. Kulikov's play this year could get him a 4th, maybe a 3rd round pick. Merkley we'll keep, if not, he could probably get a 4th. If we trade Palmieri, I think without retaining, we could get a 2nd and another asset I think.

First of all, hopefully we don't extend Palms. If anything they should extend Kuli. You'd be getting a top 4? definitely a top 6 defensive defenseman in Graves for Palms in this deal. And a 3rd for Kuli and Merkley. BOTH of which will be exposed to Seattle in the expansion draft anyway. So....hardly "horrible" imo.
