Winnipeg is never going to win without a legit number 1 defenseman, look at every cup winner, they are all better than the current Jets blueline, and the kids that are coming might not make it soon enough for Wheeler/pearrault/and possibly even a cheap version of scheifele

Jones it's good, but not that good. No matter how you try to justify it, overpaying that badly for a player that is a rental and a bit, is never a smart thing to do.

Fair enough sometimes need to go all in when the window is open though. I get impatient with bubble teams, need to take some shots sometimes and also not be afraid to bottom out and rebuild.

I understand your frustration and wish the Jets could finally find that piece they're missing, I just don't like taking that big a gamble. I'd love to have Jones, I just don't want to pay the assets required to obtain him. However, I am probably a lot more conservative trade wise than a lot of Jets fans.
