Nashville doesn't have to trade Ekholm and this is a trade they'd have no interest in.

Weal is an AHL player now.
Lehkonen is a bottom 6 forward and Nashville has too many of them.
Kulak is a bottom pairing dman and Nashville has too many of them.

So only thing of interest would be the late 1st and that doesn't do enough to get Ekholm.

Even more so now with Eric Staal on the team, it couldn’t possibly be clearer to me that Danault will have a focused defensive role.
He is the fourth most offensively gifted center on the team right now, let alone much higher ceilings for Suzuki and KK and their need to develop in offensive roles.
