If Kulikov was a RHS it would be more interesting.

I like these deals but there are some tweaks I would make.

Switch the 3rd for Wilde
I don't see Zajac waiving tbh
Add Gusev to the Edmonton deal and ask for a 2022 first instead 2021

Ideally we'd acquire a RHS Dman who's more of a shutdown type. Savard would be ideal, but beyond him the options are really thin. Maybe Avs would have to consider LHD's instead, in which case someone like Oleksiak could become interesting. All our LHD's have played on the right side this year so we could get by without a RHS when it boils down to it.

Maybe Vatanen could be an option though, especially as he's apparently PKing reasonably well this year. I've seen several NJ fans say that a 4th for him would be about right, is that correct?

How has Ryan Murray played this year? Has he been healthy? Whats the price to get him at the deadline?

The Blues have no cap for that and he really doesn;t fit our style anyway. Plus, you can no longer add those "if he re-signs" conditions.

And Palmieri gets a prospect and pick back.

You can't make pick conditions based on whether a player re-signs or not anymore

That seems about right. He's not that good defensively 5v5 but very solid on the PK. 4th/5th would be my guess

Murray has been decent, nothing too special but not bad either. I would like to resign him but I don't see it happening. His return is 2nd/3rd round pick most likely. He has remained healthy this year (except for Covid)

Would you accept a prospect like Beaucage for Murray instead of a pick?

How does Vatanen handle physicality? He's quite a small Dman relatively speaking.

He's below average for a defensemen in physicallity. If the Avs want a physically defensemen, Kulikov would fit that category

How good is Beaucage?

He scored at a goal-per-game in the QMJHL this season before his trade (14g in 14 games), and despite adjusting to a new team he's continued scoring at PPG pace. Two years ago he put up 79 points in 68 games on a stacked team, then last year all their other good scorers left and he carried the offensive load by himself, putting up 70 points in 63 games.

He has an elite shot, certainly NHL level already. The issue is that his skating is terrible, but he's made some improvements since being drafted. With another 2-3 seasons of developing his skating (he's still only 19) he can probably get to an adequate level to be a functional scoring winger. Given how much the Avs value skating though he seems destined to be traded at some point. Avs also have Newhook, Kaut, Bowers, and Ranta who he would need to leapfrog.

Seems pretty good. I wouldn't mind getting him
