I honestly don't mind this as a beginning of discussion offer. I do think SJ would rather move Meier than Hertl, but it's not a bad return. I'd like to see a better prospect going back, but the BOS cupboard is pretty bare.....

I'd rather Zboril be swapped w/ a better forward prospect but I'd consider this in the ballpark of fair

It's funny because SJ really has no direction right now. They still have Burns, Karlsson, and company and they are barren of draft picks yet they flounder at the bottom of the standings. Selling Hertl or meier now would just make things more confusing. In this scenario, if I were Doug Wilson, I would sell some of those guys who still hold value in trades like this. And while you have a valid point about the Bs' prospect pool, Studnicka looks quite promising, DeBrusk could flourish with more ice time, and IMO Zboril could still be a solid second pair defencemen.

From Boston's POV, I don't like this. Sure, they may want to get a cup run or two while Bergeron and Marchand are still able-bodied, but like you said, their prospects are horrid. Giving away Studnicka sets them back big time, and I don't think they'd be willing to sacrifice him.

Like these thoughts. SJ has crushed themselves with a few contacts for the forseeable future - Karlsson 11.5, Burns 8, Vlasic 7, Couture 8, Kane 7, Hertl 5.6, Meier 6, Jone 5.75. None of them earning what they're paid. And SJ doesn't have much outside of this that would be useful for a Bruins run
