Montréal doesn’t need to clear cap. We have $3.75 million in LTIR space because of Gallagher’s injury.

That depends on the splash they want to make on Monday. And his entire cap hit doesn't count against it. Just the remaining games. They have 362K in cap space.

There’s no one available that makes more than $5 million, which is the maximum the habs could take on.

Pretty much anyone is available for the right package. Except for Gally. He's fit in perfectly with the Leafs.
