i'm okay with the CAR trade, but I think in order to meet expansion draft regulations they'd want a dman, in which case Marincin could be useful to them
I'm thinking the Leafs could definitely add another solid pick in the JVR trade without conditions, especially if the Leafs are taking Matt Read's cap and giving up JVR, who the Leafs are holding high. Also, if this is regarding the team that called on the weekend asking if they were on the trade list, they weren't, which means he wouldn't want to go to Philadelphia
The Leafs could definitely get more for Bozak, especially if they retain a little salary in the deal
Not sure if VAN will part with Baertschi

The Leafs also need Marincin though unless they resign Hunwick or Polak before the expansion draft. If the JVR and Bozak trades happened this year than yes they definitely could but I think as rentals they may get more but not much more. Nothing to do with the team that called on the weekend but that's good to know. I just went with Philly because they will be going for a playoff push and have good defensive prospects in Sanheim and Myers. The Baertschi trade was a stretch, I just thought that if they want to do a full rebuild than Lindberg and Corrado would push that along and he's younger than JVR and getting better.

I really hope we can find players better than Polak and Hunwick in free agency. Though I do think the CAR trade is fair I'm getting the feeling the leafs are not going to trade prospects right now unless they are not in their future plans and Kapanen is in their plans. I don't think they are looking for goalie prospects right now so I would think that they are looking for draft picks and/or prospects for Bozak. The Philly trade I would really like to see a 2017 1st on that trade due to that I'm getting the feeling they are looking for a Kessel type payoff without retaining money.
