Philly moves on from a guy who just has completeley lost faith from the coaching staff, while bringing in a speedy play who can help the bottom six. since Philly is taking on the worse contract, they get Joseph in the deal as well and hope he can have a Verhaeghe type breakout on the Flyers

Ghost is from Florida and has started to show shades of his old self this season. I could see him having a Shattenkirk type rebound playing for the bolts. Bolts also save a decent amount of cap space from this

I would love to have Gostisbehere on the Lightning but our LD is already so crowded. We already have Hedman, Sergachev and McDonagh (who needs to go).

Ghost has largely played on the right side in his tenure with Philly and arguably looks more comfortable there than on the left. Granted I know a lot of coaches are very particular about playing on the strong hand...

I don’t know why you’d saddle the Flyers with Johnson’s contract. It’s the same value (roughly) but he’s older and has more term.

The entire idea is taking on the worse value player to get Joseph included as well. Plus with Ghost being completely out of favor at this point I think Philly can find at least some positive value out of the speed Johnson can bring

That’s reasonable, but I’d think Tampa wants to keep those RFAs for cap reasons alone. I’m also not as low on Ghost as most so there’s that.
