Canes add elite playmaker (and Teravainen insurance) to get Svech going while clearing salary next year to resign him+Hamilton. Sabres get the 1RD pick they want, top 6 defenseman that can be flipped in a year, and short term replacement for Ullmark if they move him

I like this, but think that CAR should add a prospect for taking on Gardiner's contract. Not a top one, but one with a bit of upside. Ist rounder is gonna be low so the prospect evens it out.

Yea that’s fair. Maybe a guy like Bokk or Gunler if Sabres want to go younger. Could also do geekie if they want a roster guy. But I’m still really high on Hall and think we have a real shot at the cup this year so I’d add a top prospect if that’s what it took especially if hall was open to resigning

I'd definitely love Hall. I could see us maybe giving Geekie, 1st, Gardiner if that sounds about right. I don't see much more than a bottom 6 forward in Geekie for his career, but maybe the Sabres can turn him around. The 1st is insurance for them eating the Gardiner contract plus some extra value to add on top of Geekie. Maybe even add a late round pick if the Sabres decline.
