Before the draft 'anywhere' passes and Seattle takes either Virtanen or Lind. Whichever isn't protected.

If 'anywhere' does make the trade before the expansion draft Seattle takes 'anyone' available not named Holtby.

What happened with Beagle?? Some Van ACGM have him on LTIR next year...

It sounds like Beagle's suffered a long term injury and might just be done

Oh okay. That would make the cap a bit easier to navigate here.

They're just whispers currently but yeah Dhaliwal and some other people have said that Beagle is probably done for the season and is gonna have to consider retiring

I feel like Pettersson gets over-valued by a fan base desperate for a certified superstar. He has yet to complete a point per game regular season, and as such I feel comparable contracts would be Johnny Gaudreau or Sebastian Aho, who signed at just under and just over 10% of the league cap respectively at the end of their rookie contracts. If applied to Pettersson, this would be around an $8.2m cap hit. I personally think if the Canucks hand out too much cap to select players it will signal yet more cap mismanagement and may well culminate in the rest of the decade being a write-off for the Canucks as non-contenders. This problem has already resulted in assets (Toffoli) walking when they could majorly help the team with secondary scoring.
