Why would the islanders get rid of a first for them to save 5 million for the next 2 years until 2023-2024 season maybe a 3rd or 4th but I feel like this would be a W for detroit as it has it changing their cap higher saving them money.

Yes why would they free themselves of 5 million cap space for years . Redwings just took one year of marc staal at 4 mill actual salary for a 2nd but theyll take two years of ladd for a 3rd or a 4th rounder . Come on

They are only saving 4.425 million a year according to cap friendly not 5 and marc staal was 5.7 for one year but the red wings also gave up future considerations instead of nothing so why would they give up a 1st marc staal gives little points and is playing pretty bad while laad is giving the red wings according to cap friendly 1.106 million freed up in cap space... laad has a +2 and 1 goal in 4 games so he could be a pretty good 3rd or 4th line piece for the red wings not 1st rounder material...

Marc staals actual salary was nearly 4 million and they got a 2nd , ladd has 2 years . Again nobodies doing them any favors and sorry to burst your bubble but future considerations is basically nothing and andrew ladd would hasnt played a single nhl game this season he would just go to grand rapids he wont ever play a game on the redwings

Nobody is taking andrew ladd for middle picks man
