That's a hefty price to pay for Hellebuyck. He hasn't proven himself to be worth that amount yet. Give him a bridge deal at 2.5 or something before your locked into a contract you might not like in a year.

I'll agree with that... a 2 year, $5 million deal makes more sense now for Winnipeg.

I also think that adding Schwartz is unnecessary. Kyle Connor is a fine 2nd line winger now, he'll get plenty of ice-time so he can develop. Dano can work the 3rd line as well.
Besides, Dano will never get much of an opportunity in STL because they have a stacked forward group.

I agree with leafs1212. Dano and Connor will do more than fine playing in Winnipeg, and keep the first. While Winnipeg has all sorts of fantastic, young prospects, they're going to have to decide which ones to keep when it comes time to pay them. At that point, it becomes so important to keep young guys coming in that are on entry level contracts. Chicago is a prime example of that.
